ANALISIS SENTIMEN BERBASIS KORPUS TERHADAP ISU SPLIT BILL DALAM HUBUNGAN ROMANTIS DI MEDIA SOSIAL X
The split bill phenomenon on social media X has sparked complex debates regarding gender roles and financial ethics in romantic relationships. This study aims to map public sentiment and language patterns regarding this issue using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design. The applied approach includes corpus linguistics analysis using Voyant Tools, covering frequency, collocation, and concordance, as well as Python-based sentiment analysis deepened with qualitative interpretation through Relational Dialectics Theory. The research data was sourced from 1,593 tweets during the period of January 1 to August 31, 2025, with a total of 22,644 words analyzed. Linguistic findings indicate a dominance of the word "Cowok" (men) compared to "Cewek" (women), reflecting the persisting strength of traditional gender expectations in Indonesia, as well as a polarization of meaning in the term split bill, which tends to collocate with negative sentiments. Conversely, sentiment and theoretical analysis reveal that the concept of "Gantian Bayar" (taking turns paying) carries significant positive sentiment as it is considered fairer and non-transactional. This practice is interpreted as a mechanism of diachronic separation or the most ideal cultural compromise to reconcile the dialectical tensions between traditional values and modern values of equality developing in Indonesian society, while also marking a form of social interaction adaptation in the digital era.
