Abstract background: This research aims to determine leadership communication patterns in the Protocol and Leadership Communication section in Ogan Ilir Regency, this type of research is descriptive qualitative using communication pattern theory according to Onong Uchjiyana Efendy (2006: 11-14) regarding types of communication patterns, a collection of data collection methods used through interviews, documentation, direct observation by Heads of Sections, Heads of Subdivisions, and Protocol Staff. The research results show that leadership communication patterns greatly influence employee performance in conveying ideas. In addition, this research provides a deeper understanding regarding leadership communication.
