PENGARUH KELENGKUNGAN SINGKAL YANG DILAPISI SENG DAN ALUMINIUM TERHADAP KEBUTUHAN ENERGI PADA PENGOLAHAN TANAH ALUVIAL

Pratiwi, Ica Hardianti - Personal Name;

This research aims to investigate and study the influence of the curvature of plowshares coated with zinc and aluminum sheets on the energy requirements for tilling alluvial soil. The study was conducted in Telang Makmur Village, Muara Telang District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The research was carried out from March 2024 to June 2024. The study was designed using a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAKF) with two treatment factors, consisting of factor A and factor B. Each treatment was repeated three times, with factor A being the treatment of the curvature degree of the plowshare consisting of A1 (120), A2 (130), and A3 (140), while factor B was the treatment of the plowshare coating material consisting of B1 (no coating), B2 (using zinc coating), and B3 (using aluminum coating). The observed parameters consisted of primary and supporting parameters, with the primary parameters including energy consumption, soil adhesion, working depth of the plow, working width of the plow, height of overturned soil, and wheel slip. The results of this study showed that the best energy requirement for plowing with a hand tractor was found in treatment A3B3, which had the lowest energy consumption of 94,712 kcal/ha, while the highest was in treatment A2B1 at 136,807.33 kcal/ha. The combination of a 140° curvature angle and aluminum coating resulted in the lowest average soil adhesion of 78.50 grams. Soil that adheres to the plow can affect the tillage results by hindering the cutting and overturning process, leading to imperfect plowing results. Additionally, it can also affect the energy consumption of the plow's work.
