PENGARUH MUSIM KEMARAU TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN VEGETATIF DAN GENERATIF KELAPA SAWIT (ELAEIS GUINEENSIS JACQ.)
Vegetative and generative growth of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) was influenced by climatic elements such as air temperature, length of irradiation, rainfall, and air humidity. The aim of the experiment was to study the effect of the dry season on the vegetative and generative growth of oil palm and to obtain a description of the damage to oil palm plants. The research was conducted at the Research Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, from September to December 2023 using the survey method with a Simple Random Sampling technique. The number of sample trees consisted of block 2A (20 trees), block 2B (21 trees), block 3A (22 trees), block 3B (22 trees), and block 1B (15 trees). Data analysis used the Multiple Linear Regression Test to determine the effect of the dry season on vegetative and generative growth. The dry season was an independent variable with indicator variables of air temperature, air humidity, rainfall, and length of irradiation. The dependent variable in this study was vegetative growth with indicator variables of spear leaves, dry fronds, broken fronds, number of fronds, and generative growth with indicator variables of male bunches and female bunches. The results showed that dry season weather affected the formation of spear leaves (83.7%), dry fronds (86.3%), broken fronds (84.6%), number of fronds (81.7%), male bunches (86.7%), and female bunches (80%).
