PEMBERDAYAAN IBU-IBU DALAM PENGOLAHAN TANAMAN LENGKUAS DI KELURAHAN SUKAMULYA KECAMATAN SEMATANG BORANG PALEMBANG
Empowerment is a concept that involves a process through which individuals or groups are provided with opportunities, resources, and knowledge to enhance their control, participation, and quality of life. This study aims to describe the empowerment process of a group of women in processing galangal in Sukamulya Village, the obstacles they face during the processing, and how to overcome them. The method used is qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation from 15 informants. The analysis employs the empowerment theory by Ayyub M. Padangaran. The findings indicate that the community has recognized their potential and successfully utilized the skills provided, enabling them to independently develop galangal into high-quality and marketable processed products. The obstacles encountered include marketing challenges, which have been addressed by implementing a pre-order system, and insufficient production equipment, which has been mitigated by utilizing the available tools owned by the women.
