STRATIFIKASI DAN MAKNA EKSPRESI KEYAKINAN PADA KELOMPOK KEPERCAYAAN BUMI SEGANDU DI KABUPATEN INDRAMAYU
The research conducted in Krimun Village, Losarang District, Indramayu Regency aims to understand and comprehend the history, social stratification, and the meaning of belief expressions within the Bumi Segandu belief group in Indramayu Regency. Using descriptive qualitative research methods with a phenomenological research strategy. Data was obtained from observations, in-depth interviews with 4 research subjects, and literature review. The data analysis technique was carried out through data collection, data condensation, data presentation, followed by drawing conclusions or data verification. The research findings reveal that the history of the emergence of the Bumi Segandu belief group began in 1974, marked by the establishment of the Serbaguna Martial Arts School, which then evolved into a belief group based on local wisdom. There are three levels of social stratification, namely the preman group, the seragam group, and the dayak group, based on status, role, and charisma. Their belief concept is called the Sejarah Alam Nagji Rasa. There are 5 expressions of belief that carry the following meanings: (1) The Mepe ritual signifies uniting oneself with the coolness (of water). (2) The Kungkum Ritual signifies uniting oneself with the warmth (of sunlight). (3) The Malam Jum’at Kliwon ritual signifies that life must be lived with fear, honesty, righteousness, patience, and acceptance of reality. (4) The Ruwatan Puteri Keraton signifies togetherness, love for children, and peace. (5) Ngaula Ning Anak Rabi means devotion to the wife (female) and children as part of the life philosophy of Ngaji Rasa.
