HUBUNGAN STATUS PEKERJAAN TERHADAP KUALITAS HIDUP PENDUDUK PRA LANSIA DI KELURAHAN TIMBANGAN KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR

The research conducted analyzes the relationship between job status and the quality of life of the pre-elderly population. This type of research is correlational with a cross sectional approach. The population studied was pre-elderly residents in Timbangan Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. Sampling used the slovin formula with an error rate of 10% so that samples were obtained, namely 89 respondents of pre-elderly working and 86 respondents of pre-elderly not working. The variables in this study are job status as an independent variable and quality of life of the pre-elderly as a bound variable. The variable of job status is divided into 2 categories, namely working and not working. The quality of life variable consists of 4 indicators, namely physical health, social relationships, environment and psychological. Data collection was obtained from the results of questionnaires and literature reviews derived from journals and institutional data obtained from the Population and Civil Registration Office of Ogan Ilir Regency. The analysis of the variable relationship test using Rank Spearman on the employment status and quality of life of the pre-elderly population obtained a significance value of 0.000 which stated that there was a relationship between the employment status and the quality of life of the pre-elderly population. The research that has been conducted can be stated that working and non-working status have a strong relationship with the quality of life of the pre-elderly population. The relationship between job status and quality of life can be an effort by pre-elderly people to prepare their lives in old age so that they can become independent, prosperous and happy elderly people in their lives.
