KORELASI KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN MATERI DAN MENULIS TEKS TANGGAPAN TERHADAP ISI BUKU FIKSI PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP SRIJAYA NEGARA PALEMBANG
This research examines the correlation between the ability to understand material and write response texts to the contents of fiction books for Grade VII students at Srijaya Negara Secondary School Palembang. The aim of this research is to determine the correlation between the ability to understand material and the ability to write response texts to the contents of fiction books in Grade VII students of Srijaya Negara Secondary School Palembang and to find out how much the influence of ability to understand material to the ability of writing response texts to the contents of fiction books for the students of Grade VII in Srijaya Negara Secondary School, Palembang. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a correlational design. The population in this study were all Grade VII students at Srijaya Negara Secondary School, Palembang. This research has two variables, namely the variable or ability to understand material (X) which is measured using a multiple choice question test and the dependent variable or the ability to write response texts to the contents of fiction books (Y) which is measured through performance tests. The results of this research show that the significance value between the ability to understand material and the ability to write response text to the contents of the book for Grade VII students at Srijaya Negara Secondary School Palembang is rated at 0.000 < 0.05, which means that the two variables are correlated, and the value of the coefficient of determination between the independent variable and the dependent variable is amounting to 80.9%. So it can qbe concluded that the higher the student's ability to understand the material, the ability to write response texts to the contents of the student's book will increase by 80.9%.
