PERUBAHAN SOSIAL MASYARAKAT PENERIMA PROGRAM DESA KORPORASI SAPI KECAMATAN AIR KUMBANG KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
This study investigates the social changes that occur in communities receiving the cattle corporation village program in Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin Regency. The problem in this study is how people in an area who previously kept a small number of cows using traditional cultivation techniques suddenly received a grant from a corporate village cattle program to raise 1000 cows using modern barn infrastructure and intensive rearing techniques. The findings showed that social transformation happened not only in populations receiving the program, but also in people who were not given it. The social changes in concern are changes in understanding of more intensive livestock production practices, greater social activities through group gatherings, and mentorship activities that involve outside specialists. Social changes in program recipient communities, as well as those that are not, are monitored and investigated using qualitative research methodologies using predetermined informants interviewed utilizing the snowball methodology. Data collecting procedures included observation, in-depth interviews, and documenting. The data was analyzed using the social change theory approach, specifically the social movement theory presented by McPhail and Miller.
