Rice (Oryza sativa, L.) is a staple food for Indonesian people. Since rice is a staple food for Indonesian people and is very much needed, the government pays great attention to the composition of rice. The government continues to strive to meet rice needs to ensure national food security. To increase national rice production, various efforts have been made, including developing and researching superior varieties, providing high quality superior seeds, expanding land area, and agricultural extension. One way to increase farming productivity is to form farmer groups to manage farming together. Forming a farmer group will be easier than working alone. This is because farmers can work together, share ideas, experiences, knowledge and the ability to innovate to improve the agricultural system. The aims of this research are: (1) To examine the problems faced by members of farmer groups in running rice farming in Tanjung Baru Village, Muara Padang District. (2) To measure how big the role of farmer groups is in increasing the productivity of rice farming in Tanjung Baru Village, Muara Padang District. (3) To examine the relationship between the role of farmer groups and the income of rice farmers in Tanjung Baru Village, Muara Padang District, Banyuasin Regency. This research will be carried out in Tanjung Baru Village, Muara Padang District, Banyuasin Regency. The selection of the research location was carried out purposefully. This research was conducted in November - January 2023. The method used in this research was a survey method conducted on farmers. The sampling method used in this research was a group random sampling method with 43 respondents taken. Data processing to answer the first objective, namely direct interviews with farmers. To answer the second objective, use the Linkert scale and calculate productivity, and to answer the third objective, use Spearman Rank correlation analysis. The research results show that the problems faced are capital, pests and diseases and climate change. The role of farmer groups in increasing farming productivity received a score of 48.42 with medium criteria. The average productivity of rice farming is 6,930 Kg/Ha/year. There is no significant (real) relationship between the role of farmer groups and rice farming income in Tanjung Baru Village, Muara Padang District, Banyuasin Regency.
