ANALISIS TRANSNASIONALISASI GERAKAN PRO-DEMOKRASI MILK TEA ALLIANCE
This study aims to understand the transnational process of the pro-democracy movements in Hong Kong and Taiwan, which have successfully reached various countries by linking demands for democracy and anti-authoritarianism, as well as the widespread use of the hashtag #MilkTeaAlliance on social media that has captured international attention. The research method used is qualitative, with a descriptive-analytical approach, and it utilizes secondary data. This study employs Sidney Tarrow's concept of transnational social movements and transnational contention to illustrate how a domestic movement can influence other countries and become a global movement. Through the five process parameters identified by Tarrow, which is domestication, global framing, transnational diffusion, externalization, and transnational coalition, this research demonstrates the transformation of the Milk Tea Alliance from a local movement to one with a global impact. The findings of this study reveal that through the use of social media, demonstrations, and support from international actors, the Milk Tea Alliance has succeeded in attracting international attention and support, as well as fostering cross-national solidarity in the fight for democracy, anti-authoritarianism, and human rights.
