ANALISIS KEKERINGAN METEOROLOGIS MENGGUNAKAN STANDARDIZED PRECIPITATION INDEX (SPI) BERBASIS SISTEM INFORMASI GEOGRAFIS (SIG) STUDI KASUS: PADA WILAYAH KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR TAHUN 2012 DAN 2015

Syafitri, Rizqi Destiani - Personal Name;

This research discusses the analysis of meteorological drought using the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) based on Geographic Information System (GIS) in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in 2012 and 2015. The high frequency of drought in this region significantly impacts agriculture and water resources. The objective of this study is to determine the level of drought and present maps showing the distribution of meteorological drought using GIS technology and the SPI method. The methods used include collecting rainfall data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to validate NASA POWER data using Pearson Correlation, analyzing SPI to determine drought levels, and visualizing data using GIS. The research findings indicate that 2015 experienced more severe drought compared to 2012. The maximum drought severity based on the average SPI-3 values shows that in 2012, Sungai Menang had an SPI of -0.83, whereas in 2015, Air Sugihan had an SPI of -1.55. According to the distribution maps, Sungai Menang exhibited severely dry conditions with SPI ≤ -2.0 in 2012, while in 2015, Air Sugihan experienced extremely dry conditions with SPI ≤ -2.0. The drought distribution map produced is useful for planning drought mitigation and managing water resources in the future.
