SIFAT FISIK MEDIA TANAM DALAM BUDIDAYA TANAMAN SAWI (Brassica juncea L.) PADA RAKIT APUNG DI LAHAN RAWA LEBAK
This study aims to analyze the optimal physical properties of growing media for mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) using floating rafts in lebak swampland. This research was conducted from March 2023 to June 2024 in the Soil Science Field Laboratory and Physics Laboratory, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this study was descriptive. The main parameters of this study were soil water content, bulk density, and soil porosity. Supporting parameters included temperature, soil pH, plant height, number of leaves, and wet stover weight. The results obtained were the planting medium with a ratio of soil, manure and rice husk charcoal 2:1:4 (T3) is the most optimal medium for planting mustard greens on floating rafts in swampy areas. The average water content was 111%, the average bulk density was 0.4 grams/cm3, and the average porosity was 74%. The mustard greens with the best growth are those planted in a planting medium consisting of soil, manure and rice husk charcoal with a ratio of 2:1:4 (T3) with an average plant height was 26.5 cm. the number of leaves was 11 leaves, and the weight of the wet stover was 110 grams. The mustard greens with the lowest growth are those planted in a planting medium consisting of soil, manure without rice husk charcoal with a ratio of 2:1 (T0) with an average plant height was 17.3 cm, the number of leaves was 9 leaves and the weight of the wet stover was 86 grams. Keywords: Soil Water Content, Bulk Density, Soil Porosity, Physical Properties of the Planting Medium
