ANALISIS KEPENTINGAN AMERIKA SERIKAT DALAM PENGIRIMAN BANTUAN MILITER KEPADA UKRAINA PADA KONFLIK RUSIA-UKRAINA TAHUN 2022
This research aims to determine the interests of the United States in sending military aid to Ukraine on Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022. On February 24 2022, Russia carried out a military invasion of Ukraine which was referred to as a special military operation with the aim of taking over the government of Kyiv within 72 hours. The invasion made the United States as a strong country help Ukraine by providing military and other assistance to ensure that Russia could not win the war. In this research, there is a concept of national interest from Donald Edwin Nuechterlein which divides national interests into 4 dimensions, namely defense interests, economic interests, world order interests and ideological interests. This research contains several national interests that the United States wants in providing military assistance to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, namely to prevent the influence of Russian nuclear power, Ukraine's natural resources, weaken the Russian economy through sanctions in the oil and gas sector, prevent Russia from controlling Eurasia, defend Quo status as a hegemonic/super power country, and maintaining the strength of the United States' democratic ideology in the world. It is feared that Russia's military invasion of Ukraine will pose a threat to the United States and its allies in the future. This is what made the United States become involved in the conflict. Keywords: Military Assistance, Conflict, National Interests, United States, Russia-Ukraine.
