PENGARUH PAPARAN KONTEN CAPAIAN AKADEMIK DAN PERBANDINGAN SOSIAL DI INSTAGRAM DALAM MEMICU DORONGAN PENINGKATAN PRESTASI PADA MAHASISWA DI KOTA PALEMBANG
This research is motivated by the phenomenon of Instagram usage among university students, which has evolved into a self-presentation arena for showcasing academic achievements, thereby triggering social comparison. This study aims to analyze the influence of Exposure to Academic Achievement Content (XI) and Social Comparison (X2) in triggering the Drive to Improve Achievement (Y) among students in Palembang City. The approach used is quantitative with an explanatory method. The sampling technique employed is purposive sampling with a total of 100 active undergraduate (Bachelor's) and diploma students in Palembang City as respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Multiple Linear Regression technique assisted by SPSS software. The results showed that Exposure to Academic Achievement Content and Social Comparison have a positive and significant influence on the Drive to Improve Achievement, both partially and simultaneously. Both variables contributed an influence of 50.6% (R2), while the remaining variance was influenced by other factors outside the research model. The conclusion of this study confirms that interaction on Instagram is able to serve as an effective inspirational stimulus (benign envy) in shaping student achievement motivation, rather than merely triggering anxiety.
