POTENSI PAKCOI YANG DIINDUKSI JAMUR ENDOFIT ENTOMOPATOGEN SEBAGAI ATRAKTAN Trichogramma sp. (HYMENOPTERA: TRICHOGRAMMATIDAE)

Zhafirah, Aurelia Meira - Personal Name;

Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus) (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) is the most destructive insect pest of cruciferous crops and serves as a major limiting factor in Brassicaceae production worldwide. Therefore, this study focused on evaluating the attraction of Trichogramma sp. toward pakchoi plants induced with entomopathogenic endophytic fungi. This research employed seed treatments consisting of six fungal isolates—WTTJC290521B, WTTJC290521A, JGMH170621, WTTJC290621C, MSwTp1, and BkbTp—and one untreated control (distilled water). The results of experiment 1 showed that Trichogramma sp. were more attracted to pakchoi induced with entomopathogenic endophytic fungi compared to the non-induced control. The result of experiment 2 showed that the response of Trichogramma sp. to each isolate was relatively comparable; however, pakchoi treated with isolate WTTJC290521A demonstrated the strongest attractant effect compared to WTTJC290621C and MSwTp1. Furthermore, experiment 3 reinforced these results, showing that isolate WTTJC290521A yielded the highest attraction. In conclusion, pakchoi plants induced with entomopathogenic fungi possess the potential to attract Trichogramma sp., with isolate WTTJC290521A demonstrating the strongest attractant effect. Further studies are required to examine the effect of isolate dosage on Trichogramma sp. attraction, as well as to evaluate its performance and persistence under field conditions.
