This study aims to describe the mathematical modeling ability of ninth-grade students on the topic of triangular prisms in Augmented Reality (AR)-assisted learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 36 students of class IX.5 at SMP Negeri 19 Palembang as research participants. Data were collected through written tests and interviews. The data analysis was conducted based on the results of students’ written tests and interviews, which were categorized according to the predetermined levels of mathematical modeling ability. Students’ mathematical modeling ability was examined based on established indicators of mathematical modeling skills. The results showed that students’ mathematical modeling ability in AR-assisted learning was categorized as very good at 52.78%, good at 27.78%, fair at 11.11%, and poor at 8.33%. During the test implementation, most students were able to fulfill the indicators of mathematical modeling ability and provide correct answers. However, some students still experienced difficulties, such as making errors in mathematical solution steps and being unable to accurately check their answers. Nevertheless, in general, students were able to solve the given problems fairly well.
