PERANCANGAN SISTEM PROTEKSI INTERNAL PADA PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA SURYA

Solar energy is one of the new renewable energy that can be utilized as a source of electricity generation using solar panel technology. Indonesia has a large solar radiation potential of 4.8 kWh/m2 /day, so it is possible to develop the use of solar as an alternative energy to reduce the use of fossil energy which is limited and has many negative impacts that can damage the earth. This research aims to design and simulate an internal protection system for solar power plants. In this research, data collection includes several key steps for the simulation of a 63 hectares solar power plant. The results of the study show that the Internal Protection System Design for Solar Power Plants (SPP) consists of a PV Array, Combiner/Fuse, DC SPD (MOV), Blocking Diode, Inverter, AC Filter (L-C), AC SPD (MOV), and Grid. The simulation results show that the PLTS internal protection system is capable of reducing lightning surge voltage from 10 kV to almost 0 kV in less than 0.5 ms, thereby protecting the inverter and other main components. Without internal protection, the combiner box and inverter are highly vulnerable to damage from transient voltage surges. Therefore, protective devices such as MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor), filter capacitors, current limiting resistors, and grounding systems are crucial to install. Dalam penelitian ini, pengumpulan data mencakup beberapa langkah kunci untuk simulasi PLTS 63 hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Perancangan Sistem Proteksi Internal pada PLTS (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya) yang terdiri dari PV Array, Combiner/Fuse, SPD DC (MOV), Diode Blocking, Inverter, Filter AC (L-C), SPD AC (MOV) dan Grid. Hasil simulasikan menunjukkan sistem proteksi internal PLTS mampu meredam tegangan lonjakan sambaran petir dari 10 kV menjadi hampir 0 kV dalam waktu kurang dari 0,5 ms, sehingga inverter dan komponen utama tetap terlindungi. Tanpa adanya proteksi internal, combiner box dan inverter sangat rentan terhadap kerusakan akibat lonjakan tegangan transien. Oleh karena itu, perangkat proteksi seperti MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor), kapasitor filter, resistor pembatas arus, serta grounding system menjadi sangat penting untuk dipasang.
