The aim of this research is to identify how the socio-economic changes of artisanal mining workers in Sungai Angit village, Babat Toman subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive perspective method. Data was collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the theory of social change with analysis according to Kingsley Davis' concept, namely changes that occur in the structure and function of society. Where the changes in question lead to changes in workers' livelihoods before becoming oil miners, which are caused by family economic factors. So the results obtained in this research are changes in the socio-economic life of artisanal mining workers, which influence changes in income, education, as well as lifestyle and consumption patterns.
