PENGARUH MANAJEMEN OLAHRAGA DAN PEMBINAAN ATLET TERHADAP PRESTASI ATLET PANAHAN SUMATERA SELATAN

This study aims to analyze the effect of sports management and athlete development on the performance of archery athletes in South Sumatra. The background of this research is based on the relatively low achievement of archery athletes in South Sumatra at the national level, despite the increasing number of clubs and public interest in archery. This condition is assumed to be related to the suboptimal implementation of sports management and athlete development programs by the relevant sports organizations. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population of this study consists of administrators, coaches, and athletes who are members of the Indonesian Archery Association (PERPANI) of South Sumatra, with a sample of … respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis, including t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results of the study show that sports management has a significant effect on the performance of archery athletes in South Sumatra, and athlete development also has a significant effect on athlete performance. Simultaneously, sports management and athlete development jointly have a significant effect on the performance of archery athletes in South Sumatra. These findings indicate that athlete performance is not only determined by individual ability but is also strongly influenced by the quality of organizational management and structured, continuous, and professional athlete development programs. Therefore, it can be concluded that effective sports management and optimal athlete development are essential factors in improving the performance of archery athletes in South Sumatra. Sports organizations are encouraged to continuously improve their management systems and athlete development programs to achieve better athletic performance in the future.
