PETA POLA ALIRAN DAN KUALITAS AIR-UDARA PADA PIPA PLEXIGLASS ORIENTASI VERTIKAL KE ATAS
Multiphase flow is a flow that involves many phases in the channel and has many important applications in various industrial fields, one of which is boilers. Two-phase flow is the simplest flow because it has a very complex phenomenon with the interaction between the same and different phases, based on the geometric shape and orientation and direction of the flow up or down. This phase interaction will affect the flow pattern formed. In this study, the water-air flow pattern that occurs will be observed, a flow pattern map will be created, and the water and air quality values will be analyzed at each superficial water and air velocity. In this experiment, a 1-inch diameter Plexiglas pipe with a test section length of 1 meter, at a water temperature of 26.7°C and air at a temperature of 27.7°C, using variations in water discharge of 0.56-0.93 m/s and air discharge of 0.39-0.79 m/s. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the resulting flow pattern is in the form of a slug, which will be categorized into short slugs with a length of 3-7 cm, medium slugs with a length of 8-12 cm, and long slugs with a size of 13-18 cm. The value of water quality (xl) and air quality (xg) will experience an increase with increasing superficial fluid velocity.
