MANAJEMEN KOMUNIKASI KRISIS BADAN PENANGGUALANGAN BENCANA DAERAH (BPBD) DAN DINAS LINGKUNGAN HIDUP DAN PERTANAHAN (DLHP) PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN DALAM MENANGANI POLUSI UDARA AKIBAT KARHUTLA
Extreme weather changes cause drought and forest and land fires in South Sumatra. The Department of Environment and Defense (DLHP) and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Sumatra Province carry out prevention and mitigation. Forest and land fires cause air pollution, increase the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU), and have a negative impact on people's health and activities. Good crisis communication management is needed to deal with this situation. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, data is obtained through observation, interviews and document analysis. Crisis communication management carried out by BPBD and DLHP of South Sumatra Province is carried out in three stages, namely before the crisis. crisis, and after the crisis. DLHP South Sumatra uses crisis response strutegies. such as counterattacking, denying, justifying, gaining sympathy, correcting mistakes, apologizing. by explaining the crisis situation through podcasts. providing economic revitalization assistance, using Instagram accounts as a means of publishing press releases, and conducting company evaluations. in South Sumatra. Meanwhile, South Sumatra BPBD uses a crisis sponse strateg by minimizing attacks or events in accordance with image restoration theory according to William Benoit. Minimize the impact of the crisis through response activities informed through official websites and disaster reporting services. Crisis response efforts are related to the response carried out by BPBD, such as involving international helicopters, making rain, ground and air blackouts by establishing task force posts (TNI. Polri, regional apparatus operations, Government, Manggala Agni, weather modification team), as well as socialization regarding forest and land fires. All of these actions aim to gain sympathy, improve the image and minimize the negative impact of the forest and land fires crisis. Keywords: Communication, Crisis, Management, Pollution
