REPRESENTASI POSTFEMINISME PADA TOKOH UTAMA WANITA DALAM DRAMA KOREA “SHOOTING STARS” (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA JOHN FISKE)

Gender issues are still crucial for Asian society, especially South Korea. With the feminism movements, the depiction of female characters who are independent, assertive and professional in their fields of work has become a trend in the South Korean entertainment industry such as in the Korean drama Shooting Stars which features a female protagonist who works as a PR consultant and team leader. The purpose of this research is to find out how the representation of postfeminism in the Korean Drama Shooting Stars using John Fiske's semiotics which is studied based on three levels of television coding. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the characteristics of postfeminism in the main female character are analyzed based on Braithwaite's opinion and supported by the theory of postfeminism sensibility elements. The final result that the researcher found was that Postfeminism in this drama is represented through the female protagonist who is described as a confident figure, has an active role in solving problems and making decisions, dares to voice opinions and confrontations but does not make masculinity a standard of success, so it is in accordance with the ideological values of postfeminism. Postfeminism seeks to celebrate womanhood, femininity and female empowerment. In addition, through this play it can be concluded that a woman's identity and life choices are in her own hands.
