HUBUNGAN ASUPAN KALSIUM DAN HIPERTENSI PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III
Background: Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy remain one of the leading causes of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality worldwide. These conditions may result in serious complications such as preeclampsia, eclampsia, and fetal growth restriction. Calcium requirements increase significantly during the third trimester to support fetal bone mineralization, while calcium deficiency has been implicated in the elevation of blood pressure. Adequate calcium intake has been shown to reduce the risk of hypertension, particularly in countries with generally low dietary calcium intake, such as Indonesia. Method: This study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design conducted from October to November 2025 at independent midwifery practices in Kertapati, Palembang City. The study population consisted of all third-trimester pregnant women who attended antenatal care during the study period. A total of 58 respondents were recruited using a consecutive sampling method and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Dietary calcium intake was assessed using a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), while blood pressure data were obtained from medical records.
