PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PUPUK ORGANIK TERHADAP TINGKAT SERANGAN PENYAKIT HAWAR DAUN PADA TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L) DI DESA TANJUNG,KABUPATEN SUMEDANG

Juhira, Intan - Personal Name;

In some countries, corn has a carbohydrate content equivalent to rice and wheat, but its production has often declined due to leaf blight disease, which is caused by Helminthosporium sp., resulting in yield losses of up to 50%. This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer application on the level of leaf blight disease (Helminthosporium sp.) on corn plants in the field in Tanjung Village, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The study was conducted from June to September 2025. The research was carried out by applying the pathogen Helminthosporium sp. to 5 treatments, namely the control treatment (P0 ), organic fertilizer treatment (P1 ), coal fertilizer treatment (P2 ), liquid organic fertilizer treatment (P3 ), and chemical fertilizer 40% + organic fertilizer 60% treatment (P4). Each treatment group was repeated 2 times, resulting in 10 experimental plots. The observation parameters examined in this study were the intensity and percentage of leaf blight disease attacks, plant growth in the vegetative and generative phases, production yield, and organoleptic tests. The results of the study showed that organic fertilizer (P1) was able to suppress the intensity and percentage of leaf blight disease attacks caused by Helminthosporium sp. compared to other treatments. Organic fertilizer (P1) significantly affected the vegetative and generative growth of the plants. The conclusion of this study is that the use of organic fertilizer has a significant effect on the level of leaf blight disease attacks, plant growth, production yield, and organoleptic tests. Keywords : effect, blight, growth, attacks dan intensity
