PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF MENULIS TEKS DESKRIPSI MENGGUNAKAN APLIKASI WORDWALL PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP SETIA NEGARA PALEMBANG
The teaching of descriptive text writing in Grade VIII at SMP Setia Negara Palembang is still predominantly conducted using conventional methods with limited use of digital learning media. This condition results in low student motivation and difficulties in organizing descriptive texts in a structured manner. Therefore, this research aims to design interactive learning media for teaching descriptive text writing by utilizing the Wordwall application for Grade VIII junior high school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Alessi and Trollip (2001) model, which consists of three main stages: planning, design, and development. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive quantitative techniques by calculating the percentage of results from the needs analysis questionnaire and expert validation sheets, as well as descriptive qualitative analysis based on suggestions and feedback from experts. The research data were collected through interviews, needs analysis questionnaires, observations, and validations conducted by material experts, media experts, and language experts. The results of the needs analysis indicate that students have a high level of interest and need for interactive digital learning media, with an average percentage of 86.55% in the “strongly agree” category. Furthermore, the validation results show that the developed media is categorized as very feasible, with feasibility scores of 85% from media experts, 95% from material experts, and 97,5% from language experts. Therefore, interactive learning media based on Wordwall is appropriate to be used as a learning medium for teaching descriptive text writing to Grade VIII junior high school students.
