HIPERREALITAS CANTIK BAGI MAHASISWI PENGGUNA SKINCARE DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
This research aims on discussing the process of formation and form of beautiful hyperreality for student skincare users at Sriwijaya University. Hyperreality is where actual reality is replaced with a pseudo or artificial reality that people believe is more real reality. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the process of forming and the form of beautiful hyperreality for female skincare users. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This research uses Jean Baudrillard's Hyperreality theory. Data was obtained from eight main informants and one supporting informant through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of this research show that the process of creating a hyperreality of beauty for female skincare users goes through three phases, namely the simulation phase, where informants imitate the construction of beauty that they internalize through older sisters, peers, content creators and drama. Second, in the simulacra phase, research informants began to learn more about skincare and tried skin care by trying various skincare brands and treatments at beauty clinics. Third, the simulacrum phase of informants defining their version of beauty remains in the realm of physical beauty. From the three formation processes, a beautiful hyper-reality forms for female skincare users, skincare becomes a part of their daily lives that cannot be abandoned. so that beauty becomes a lifestyle.
