ANALISIS POLA CURAH HUJAN HARIAN DI BAGIAN BARAT PULAU JAWA PADA FASE IOD NEGATIF DAN LA NIÑA

Yuliana, Rahma - Personal Name;

This research was conducted to determine the daily rainfall pattern in the western part of Java Island by utilizing BMKG observer station data, namely Kertajati Meteorological Station, Bandung Geophysical Station, Budiarto Meteorological Station, Banten Climatological Station, Kemayoran Meteorological Station, and Tanjung Priok Maritime Meteorological Station starting in 1981 until 2023 which were officially obtained from the BMKG website online. This research was conducted in the Physics Education laboratory of FKIP Sriwijaya University. The research method is secondary data research with a quantitative approach. Data analysis uses Probability Density Function statistics to see the intensity and frequency of rainfall and further analyzed with Fast Fourier Transform to see rainfall patterns. The western part of Java Island has a monsoonal rainfall pattern with peak rainfall in the DJF season and flood disasters in the region can be caused by high intensity rainfall and intensity rainfall in a long duration. The strong and weak years of La Niña and negative IOD were initially indicated as the cause of the alternation of rainfall heights. Based on this fact, it means that there are other mechanisms (not the influence of La Niña or negative IOD alone) acting on the climate system in the western part of Java Island. Perhaps the monsoon mechanism is one of the other mechanisms that play a role in determining rainfall patterns in the western part of Java Island.
