KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS SISWA MELALUI PENDEKATAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION BERBANTUAN LKPD DIGITAL
This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving Two Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV) through the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by digital worksheets. This study used a descriptive method involving 30 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. Data collection was conducted through mathematical reasoning ability tests and interviews based on reasoning indicators, including making assumptions, performing mathematical manipulations, providing logical reasons, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students' mathematical reasoning abilities were generally in the moderate category, with 8 students (26.66%) in the high category, 12 students (40%) in the moderate category, and 10 students (33.33%) in the low category. Students in the high category were able to systematically fulfil all reasoning indicators, while students in the moderate category still had difficulty making assumptions and presenting logical reasons in a coherent manner. Meanwhile, students in the low category showed limitations in performing mathematical manipulations and explaining the reasoning behind the solutions they obtained. Although students' mathematical reasoning abilities are still in the moderate category, the results of this study indicate that the RME approach assisted by digital worksheets has the potential to support the development of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, particularly in solving contextual problems.
