KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS X MELALUI MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA MATERI BARISAN ARITMATIKA

Harumi, Naffalana Dinda - Personal Name;

Mathematical reasoning ability is needed to understand mathematical material. However, there are still many students whose mathematical reasoning abilities are low, one of which is in arithmetic sequences. Students also still make mistakes and have difficulty in solving arithmetic sequence problems. Therefore, a study was conducted to describe the mathematical reasoning abilities of 10th grade students through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in arithmetic sequences. A total of 39 students from Tri Dharma High School in Palembang participated as informants in this study. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques included tests and interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical reasoning abilities of tenth-grade students using the PBL model in arithmetic sequences show visible variations in the number of reasoning ability indicators that appear in each student. One student with a percentage of 2.78% can produce 4 indicators, 9 students with a percentage of 25% can produce 3 indicators, 4 students with a percentage of 11.11% were able to demonstrate 2 indicators, 12 students with a percentage of 33.33% were able to demonstrate 1 indicator, and the remaining 10 students with a percentage of 27.78% were unable to demonstrate all indicators. The emergence of each mathematical reasoning ability indicator also varies. A total of 19 students with a percentage of 52.78% were able to produce the indicator of proposing conjectures, one student with a percentage of 2.78% was able to produce the indicator of performing mathematical manipulations, 14 students with a percentage of 38.89% were able to produce the indicator of checking the validity of a statement, and 17 students with a percentage of 47,22% were able to show indicators of drawing conclusions from statements.
