KONSTRUKSI WACANA GENDER TENTANG TANGGUNG JAWAB KONTRASEPSI PRIA DALAM KONTEN ORGANIK TIKTOK @JUANJUMIS (ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS NORMAN FAIRCLOUGH)

Farras, Jennie Luthfiyyah - Personal Name;

The disparity in male contraceptive participation in Indonesia is not merely a medical issue but a reflection of patriarchal hegemony entrenched in the social structure. This study aimed to analyze how gender discourse regarding male contraceptive responsibility was constructed in @juanjumis’s organic TikTok content. Utilizing a qualitative method with Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis approach, this research dissected the dimensions of text, discursive practice, and social practice. The results showed that through an authentic vulnerability strategy, the content successfully challenged traditional norms and triggered massive virality (9.1 million views). However, critical analysis revealed a paradox: the representation of caring masculinity was constructed by the public as a form of heroism or a positive anomaly, rather than a standard marital expectation. Audience interactions further exposed latent anxieties (trust issues) associating the husband's contraceptive participation with the risk of infidelity. This study provided strategic implications for health communication by demonstrating the effectiveness of organic content based on personal experience, and contributed to achieving SDGs 3.7 and 5.6 through expanding the definition of reproductive responsibility to include male participation. It was concluded that substantive gender equality transformation required a discursive shift from heroization to the normalization of shared reproductive responsibility, alongside multi-level interventions in policy, service access, and continuing education. Keywords: gender discourse, male contraception, caring masculinity, TikTok, critical discourse analysis, reproductive health, SDGs
