KONDISI SOSIAL EKONOMI DAN TINGKAT KESEJAHTERAAN RUMAH TANGGA PEMBUDIDAYAAN IKAN LELE DI KOTA PALEMBANG
The socioeconomic conditions and welfare of catfish farmers show the extent to which aquaculture activities can improve farmers' living standards in terms of income, education, health, and environmental sustainability. Good welfare is achieved when aquaculture businesses provide stable economic benefits, the business environment is maintained, and the social life of families becomes more prosperous and independent. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the characteristics of catfish farming households in terms of socioeconomic conditions in Palembang City, (2) to analyze the income of catfish farming households in Palembang City and the proportion of income from catfish farming, (3) To analyze the food and non-food consumption expenditures of catfish farming households in Palembang City, (4) To analyze the welfare level of catfish farming households in Palembang City. Sampling was determined using purposive sampling of 100 samples of catfish farming households. The analysis methods used were quantitative descriptive analysis, household income analysis, household expenditure analysis, and household welfare analysis. The results of the study indicate that the characteristics of catfish farming households in Palembang City show quite large business potential, and require support to be able to develop better. The total income of catfish farming households in Palembang City reached Rp 94,175,778 per year with the proportion of income from catfish farming business 61.3 percent, patin fish farming business 15.5 percent, non-fisheries 23.2 percent. Total expenditure on household consumption of catfish farmers in Palembang City amounted to Rp 38,406,744 per year, with the proportion of non-food expenditure 57.2 percent and food 42.8 percent. The level of welfare of catfish farmers in Palembang City with an NTPRTP value of 147.2 is in the prosperous category
