ANALISIS HIGIENE SANITASI LINGKUNGAN PADA PDAM TIRTA PRABUJAYA DI PRABUMULIH SUMATERA SELATAN

Access to safe drinking water must be supported by the implementation of good environmental hygiene and sanitation by drinking water service providers to prevent contamination, protect public health, and ensure the quality and safety of the water produced. PDAM Tirta Prabujaya, as the main drinking water provider in Prabumulih City, plays an important role in ensuring water quality in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023 on Drinking Water Quality Standards and Minister of Health Regulation Number 43 of 2014 on Drinking Water Hygiene and Sanitation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of environmental hygiene and sanitation at PDAM Tirta Prabujaya in Prabumulih, South Sumatra, covering the sanitation conditions of the facility, sanitation of water treatment equipment, raw water quality, as well as hygiene and sanitation factors of personnel in supporting the provision of safe drinking water. The study used a qualitative design with a descriptive approach and purposive sampling selection of 13 informants consisting of the head of the PDAM, installation operators, production and distribution staff, and consumers. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and review of laboratory test documents, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques. The research results indicate that the implementation of sanitation hygiene has been carried out, but discrepancies with regulatory standards were still found in aspects of facility sanitation maintenance, equipment care, raw water quality monitoring, and staff hygiene consistency, which could potentially affect the quality and safety of drinking water for the community.
