INTERAKSI PUPUK BRIKET DAN PESTISIDA NABATI DARI KOMBINASI Chromolaena odorata DENGAN CANGKANG TELUR PADA POLIKULTUR JAGUNG DAN CABAI
Polyculture is a cultivation technique used to maximize yields. Maize was chosen because of its high carbohydrate content, and chilies because of their high vitamin A and C content. However, there was a decline in production due to abiotic factors related to living organisms and biotic nutrient elements. C. odorata mixed with eggshells is thought to have properties that can be utilized as fertilizer and pesticide. The study aims to utilize waste and weeds as organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides that affect the growth and diversity of arthropods in maize-chili polyculture. The research was conducted from March 2025 to March 2026 at the Agro Training Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, using a split-plot design with two main treatment factors, C1 (0%), C2 (5%), C3 (10%), C4 (15%), and sub-factors of organic fertilizer briquettes O1 (100 g), O2 (200 g). The traps used for collecting arthropod samples were methyl eugenol, yellow sticky traps, pan traps, pitfall traps, sweep nets, light traps, and visual. The results showed that the organic fertilizer content in 500 g contained N 1.05%, P 0.129%, K 0.25%, and Ca 3.33%, resulting in a significant interaction on the fertilizer briquette and pesticide extract. The best treatment interaction in maize for diameter was treatment C4O2, and for leaf height and number was C3O2. Treatment C3O2 was the best for chili diameter and leaf number, and treatment C4O1 was the best for chili height and fruit number. The biodiversity index value (1.15) is in the moderate category, the evenness index value (0.48) is in the less even category, and the dominance value (0.30) is in the low category. The species Bactrocera carambolae dominated A total of 2915 in the maize and chili polyculture which acts as phytophages. These results prove that organic fertilizer briquettes and methanol pesticide extract at the appropriate dose can be a long-term solution for environmentally friendly agriculture.
