UJI REPELENSI DARI MINYAK ATSIRI DAUN JERUK PERUT TERHADAP KUMBANG TEPUNG MERAH (Tribolium Castaneum Herbst) DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN KERTAS SARING

Pratiwi, Yuliza Adhe - Personal Name;

Tribolium castaneum is one of the warehouse pests that has a wide range of attacks on various commodities in storage warehouses. The study objective to determine the dose that produces the highest repellency index against T. castaneum and the dose that causes the highest mortality rate after applying lime leaf essential oil, as well as to determine the LD50 and LT 50 values. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). It included a control, 6 treatments, and 4 replicates. The doses used in this study were 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Observations were conducted over 10 days, and the parameters observed were mortality, repellency, LD50, and LT50. Each treatment used 5 grams of rice and 20 T. castaneum imagoes. The highest mortality rate was at a dose of 25% with a value of 67%. Meanwhile, the lowest mortality rate was at a dose of 5% with a value of 55%. In the repellency observation, the highest repellency value was at the 20% dose with a value of 63.2. The LD50 analysis showed an LD50 value of 71.92 on the first day, while on the 10th day, the LD50 value was 2.545. On day 4, the LT50 value at a dose of 0% was 90.519, while at a dose of 25% it showed a negative value of -1.963, indicating a very large difference in mortality rates between doses. The conclusion is that the most effective dose for controlling T. castaneum is 5%. Meanwhile, the dose that has a repellency index value at a concentration of 20%. The higher the dose of essential oil used, the greater the repellency index value, so that a high dose can make insects stay away from the treated area.
