EFEKTIVITAS MIKROBA DARI PEMBIAKAN BERSERI Colletotrichum sp., KITIN DAN TANAMAN KENCUR (Kaempferia galanga) TERHADAP PATOGEN ANTRAKNOSA CABAI

Apriliani, Berta - Personal Name;

Anthracnose caused Colletotrichum sp. is a major disease of chili pepper that can lead to crop failure. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of antagonistic microbes obtained from serial propagation enriched with kencur plants and chitin in inhibiting the growth of Colletotrichum sp. Serial cultivation was conducted to increase microbial communities derived from root exudates and enrichment materials, which were subsequently tested against Colletotrichum sp. colonies using the filter paper method. Parameters observed included colony growth inhibition, changes in the electrical conductivity (EC) of the medium, and the morphology of pathogen mycelia. Experiment consisted of four serial cultivation treatments: control, root exudates, kencur plants in cocopeat supplemented with Colletotrichum sp., and kencur plants in cocopeat supplemented with Colletotrichum sp. mycelium and chitin, with three replicates for each treatment. The results showed that microbes obtained from serial cultivation exhibited varying abilities to inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum sp. Microbes derived from root exudates produced the highest inhibition in treatments without chitin, whereas in treatments with chitin addition, the level of inhibition increased from the first to the third cycle. Microscopic observation of the mycelia revealed structural damage under certain treatments. Although not all treatments showed statistically significant differences, enrichment with Colletotrichum sp. mycelium, chitin, and kencur plants demonstrated potential in enhancing antagonistic activity against the anthracnose pathogen.
