PENGARUH KOMPETENSI TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI DI BADAN PERENCANAAN PEMBANGUNAN DAERAH (BAPPEDA) KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR

Hestina, Nabira - Personal Name;

This study aims to analyze the influence of competence on employee performance at the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Ogan Ilir Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory type of research. The research data consists of primary data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Ogan Ilir Regency Bappeda as well as secondary data sourced from relevant agency documents and literature. The population in this study amounted to 30 employees, with a sampling technique using saturated sampling so that the entire population was used as a research sample. Data analysis was carried out using the IBM SPSS Version 26 program through data quality tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis, t tests, and determination coefficient tests. The results of the study show that competence has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees at Bappeda Ogan Ilir Regency. This is evidenced by the results of the t-test which shows that the calculated t-value of 10.144 is greater than the table t-value of 2.04841 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, so that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The regression equation obtained was Y = 7.078 + 0.794X, which indicates that any increase in competence will be followed by an increase in employee performance. The value of the determination coefficient (R Square) of 0.786 showed that competence contributed 78.6% to employee performance, while the remaining 21.4% was influenced by other factors outside of this study. The recommendations given in this study are the need for agencies to improve employee competencies through training programs, technical guidance and capacity development that are tailored to the needs of the position and placement of employees according to their educational backgrounds, skills and competencies so that employee performance is more optimal. Keywords: Competence, Employee Performance, Human Resource Management.
