One indicator of discipline commonly applied by companies is the attendance or absence rate. The implementation of a face recognition-based attendance system is one way to monitor employee attendance and improve employee discipline. However, in reality, there are still many agencies, especially in the Dinas PUPR Kota Palembang, that have implemented a face recognition-based attendance system, yet employee discipline levels remain low. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of implementing a face recognition-based attendance system on the discipline of government employees with work agreements in the Dinas PUPR Kota Palembang. The research method used was quantitative with data collection techniques through questionnaires and observation. The theories used were Keith Davis's work discipline theory and Malayu Hasibuan's discipline theory. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a face recognition-based attendance system has a significant effect on the discipline of government employees with work agreements at the Dinas PUPR Kota Palembang, as evidenced by the calculated t-score being greater than the table t-score (2.171 > 1.655) and from the coefficient of determination test result of 3%, which means that the implementation of a face recognition-based attendance system has a very low effect on PPPK discipline.
