HUBUNGAN HARGA DIRI DENGAN RUMINATION PADA WANITA KORBAN PERSELINGKUHAN DALAM HUBUNGAN PERNIKAHAN
This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-esteem and rumination in women who are victims of infidelity within marital relationships. The hypothesis of this study was that there is a relationship between self-esteem and rumination in women who are victims of infidelity in marital relationships. Respondents in this study were women who were victims of infidelity in marital relationships, consisted 156 research respondents and 50 try-out respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was incidental sampling. The rumination scale was developed based on the components of rumination by Tanner et al. (2013), while the self-esteem scale was based on the dimensions of self-esteem by Stets and Burke (2014). Data analysis was conducted using Pearson’s product–moment correlation. The results showed a significant relationship between self-esteem and rumination, with a p-value of < 0.001 (p < 0.05) and a negative direction of correlation (r = −0.502). This indicates that higher self-esteem is associated with lower levels of rumination, and vice versa. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the hypothesis of this study was accepted.
