PENGEMBANGAN VIDEO PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MENGGUNAKAN PMRI KONTEKS BATIK GAMBO UNTUK MENGETAHUI KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH SISWA MATERI PENJUMLAHAN PECAHAN DI SD
This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness and potential effects of a mathematics instructional video based on the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach using the batik gambo context on fraction addition material at the elementary school level. The media development employed the Development Studies approach using the Rowntree model. Data were collected through questionnaires to assess the validity and practicality of the media, observations to examine students’ responses and engagement, and tests to measure problem-solving ability using a quasi-experimental design. The results of expert validation of the developed instructional video yielded an average score of 90.5%, categorized as highly valid, while the practicality test obtained an average score of 91%, indicating a highly practical category. Observational data on practicality revealed that the media was engaging, students did not exhibit excessive confusion, and they demonstrated decision-making skills and active involvement during the learning process. The results of the t-test showed a t value of 24.68 with a p-value of 1.57 × 10⁻¹⁷ (< 0.05), indicating a very significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, the developed instructional video has a significant effect on improving students’ problem-solving abilities across the stages of problem solving. The media also demonstrated a potential effect on enhancing problem-solving skills, as evidenced by an increase in the proportion of students in the high category and a decrease in the low category. Overall, the PMRI-based instructional video incorporating the batik gambo context is considered valid, practical, and effective, and is feasible for implementation as a supporting learning medium in the Merdeka Curriculum to enhance students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities
