PERAN LEGAL OFFICER DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SENGKETA DI PT PUPUK SRIWIDJAJA PALEMBANG

Pupuk Sriwidjaja (PT Pusri), as one of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Indonesia, is not free from the potential emergence of disputes in its business activities, both related to contractual relationships and employment relations. These disputes give rise to legal issues concerning the appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms and the role of the legal officer in protecting the company’s legal interests. Disputes that are not properly handled may cause losses to the company and disrupt operational stability. Therefore, the role of the legal officer is crucial in safeguarding the company’s legal interests and ensuring that dispute resolution is carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This research aims to provide an overview and analysis of the role of the legal officer in resolving disputes at PT Pusri, as well as to examine the legal efforts undertaken by the legal officer as a representative of the company. The research method used is normative legal research with a juridical-normative approach, which examines laws and regulations, legal doctrines, and secondary data in the form of documentation of legal cases faced by PT Pusri over the past three years (2022–2024). The results of the study indicate that the legal officer of PT Pusri plays an active role in the dispute resolution process through legal assistance, review of legal documents, and coordination with external legal counsel. Dispute resolution is generally carried out through litigation in district courts as well as non-litigation mechanisms such as negotiation and internal mediation. Overall, the legal efforts undertaken by the legal officer are considered effective in protecting the company’s legal interests without causing financial losses.
