SYSTEMATIC REVIEW : FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KESEHATAN MENTAL REMAJA DI INDONESIA

Qur'annisya, Amanda Dea - Personal Name;

Adolescent mental health is an increasingly important public health issue, along with the rising prevalence of mental disorders in recent years. Data from the Indonesia National Adolescent Mental Health Survey (I-NAMHS) 2023 indicate that 34.9% of adolescents experienced mental health problems in the past 12 months, and 5.5% met the criteria for a mental disorder. This condition is influenced by various interrelated factors, both at the individual level and within the social environment. This study aims to identify the factors influencing adolescent mental health in Indonesia through a systematic review. Literature searches were conducted through Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect for publications from 2020–2025, with inclusion criteria consisting of quantitative cross-sectional studies involving adolescents aged 10–19 years. Exclusion criteria included non–open access articles, systematic reviews, grey literature, and studies conducted outside Indonesia. Quality assessment was carried out using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. From 1,825 identified articles, 21 articles met all criteria and were analyzed. The findings indicate that adolescent mental health is influenced by internal factors such as gender, chronic illness history, lifestyle, genetic predisposition, and personality type, as well as external factors including parenting style, academic stress, bullying, social support, socioeconomic status, digital media use, and education. Among these, parenting style emerged as the most influential factor, followed by social support from family and peers. Meanwhile, academic stress, bullying experiences, and low socioeconomic conditions were found to increase adolescents’ risk of mental health problems. This study shows that adolescent mental health is influenced by both internal and external factors. Therefore, interventions need to be implemented comprehensively at the individual, family, and social-environment levels.
