KEMAMPUAN ARGUMENTASI SISWA KELAS VIII PADA MATERI TEOREMA PYTHAGORAS DENGAN SKEMA TOULMIN
The purpose of this study was to determine the argumentation ability of eighth- grade students on the Pythagorean Theorem material using Toulmin’s Argumentation Scheme. The research subjects consisted of 23 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri Srijaya Negara Palembang, class VIII A. This study employed a descriptive research design, which included three stages: the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the data analysis stage. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed qualitative. The results of the study indicate that the students’ argumentation ability on the Pythagorean Theorem using Toulmin’s scheme is categorized as good and falls within the medium level, as students were able to express reasons for their answers. All students were able to achieve the first and second indicators, while on average they reached the third and fourth indicators.
