KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI BILANGAN BERBASIS NUMERASI MENGGUNAKAN KONTEKS SURVIVAL
This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in numeracy-based number material using a survival context. The subjects of this study were eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Palembang. Data collection was conducted through a numeracy-based written test with a survival context and in-depth interviews. The analysis of students' critical thinking skills refers to Ennis' critical thinking indicators, which include focus, reason, inference, situation, and clarity. The results show that students' critical thinking skills vary. Some students were able to understand the problems well, use relevant information, and draw logical conclusions. However, there were still students who had difficulty providing appropriate reasons and explaining their conclusions in depth. The use of survival contexts in numeracy questions helps students relate number concepts to real-life situations, thereby encouraging active engagement and critical thinking processes. Thus, numeracy-based mathematics learning using survival contexts is expected to be an effective alternative for training and developing students' critical thinking skills in number material.
