Nandira, Terra - Personal Name;

Complementary Feeding (MP-ASI) plays an essential role in fulfilling nutritional needs and supporting child growth during the first 1,000 days of life. Maternal knowledge is a crucial determinant in ensuring appropriate complementary feeding practices according to recommended guidelines. This study aimed to compare the level of maternal knowledge regarding complementary feeding among mothers of children aged 6–24 months in Banyuasin 1 and Banyuasin 3 Districts. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all mothers with children aged 6–24 months in Banyuasin Regency, while the samples were mothers residing in Banyuasin 1 and Banyuasin 3 Districts selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a self-administered questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed a difference in the mean rank of maternal knowledge between the two districts, where Banyuasin 1 District obtained a mean rank of 38.42 and Banyuasin 3 District obtained a mean rank of 24.58. These findings indicate that mothers in Banyuasin 1 District tend to have a higher level of knowledge regarding complementary feeding compared to those in Banyuasin 3 District. In conclusion, there is a significant difference in the level of maternal knowledge regarding complementary feeding between Banyuasin 1 and Banyuasin 3 Districts, with Banyuasin 1 showing a higher knowledge level. These results are expected to serve as a basis for developing more targeted educational interventions to improve complementary feeding practices.
