FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KELUHAN MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS (MSDS) PADA PENJAHIT DIKECAMATAN TANJUNG RAJA
Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are conditions that affect the muscles, joints, and supporting tissues due to non-ergonomic working postures and prolonged work duration. Tailors are at high risk of experiencing MSDs because they work in a seated, bent, and forward-leaning position for long periods without proper work facilities. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with MSDs among tailors in Tanjung Raja District. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design and involved 132 respondents. Data were collected using the Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire (CMDQ), the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods. The results showed significant associations between MSDs and working posture (p = 0.013), age (p = 0.000), sex (p = 0.000), body mass index (p = 0.021), daily working duration (p = 0.035), and physical activity (p = 0.032). No significant association was found with work tenure (p = 0.286). Multivariate analysis identified sex as the most dominant factor associated with MSDs (p = 0.000). It is recommended that tailors perform Workplace Stretching Exercises (WSE) and Auto Stretching during rest periods, and improve workplace ergonomics and working posture to reduce the risk of MSDs.
