This study aims to determine the factors causing the fading of the culture of mutual cooperation in Adat Istiadat Pesedekahan at Kelurahan Tanjung Batu Timur. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The sampling technique in the study was purposive sampling so that the informants in this study were three main informants and one supporting informant. This study also used three data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation with data analysis techniques used consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The data validity test in this study used the credibility test, transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the factors causing the fading of the culture of mutual cooperation in Adat Istiadat Persedekahan namely population growth which creates a heterogeneous environment, the existence of a wage system, namely catering or cooking wages, community activities, economic progress and the influence of the community when attending celebrations outside the area.
