The Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) policy represents the government’s effort to achieve equality in healthcare services through the standardization of inpatient facilities for all participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. This study aims to explore the perspectives of JKN participants regarding the information and implementation of the KRIS policy at RSUP Dr. Rivai Abdullah. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 purposively selected informants. The findings indicate that the public’s level of knowledge about KRIS varies, with most JKN participants lacking a comprehensive understanding of its meaning, objectives, and facility criteria. The community’s perception of KRIS tends to be positive, as they view the policy as promoting social justice and equity in healthcare services among patients. The implementation of KRIS at RSUP Dr. Rivai Abdullah has been carried out properly in terms of procedural and administrative aspects, although minor challenges remain in supporting facilities and perceptions of cost fairness. The community’s willingness to accept and recommend KRIS is influenced by positive service experiences, staff friendliness, and trust in the hospital. Overall, the public provides a positive affirmation of KRIS’s success in fostering fairer and more inclusive healthcare services. It is recommended to enhance public socialization and literacy regarding the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) policy through massive and continuous efforts, as well as to strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms at the hospital level to ensure compliance with standards and maintain consistent service quality.
