ANALISIS EFISIENSI TERMAL IDEAL DAN AKTUAL TURBIN GAS TERHADAP VARIASI BEBAN OPERASI DI PLTGU INDRALAYA

The increasing demand for electrical energy necessitates the operation of power plants with optimal operational efficiency. Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) play a crucial role in meeting this demand however, these plants operate under varying loads to accommodate fluctuations in energy consumption. This operational load variation affects the performance of gas turbines, such as thermal efficiency, which indicates the ability to convert fuel energy into electrical energy. This study aims to analyze the influence of load variation on gas turbine performance through the evaluation of operational data from the power plant. The analysis results show that compressor efficiency increases from 83.58% to 85.59% with rising load, due to increasingly effective air compression processes. Turbine efficiency ranges from 85.41% to 85.58% and remains relatively stable. Actual thermal efficiency increases from 36.73% at a load of 25 MW to 38.58% at a load of 34 MW, but it is still lower compared to the ideal thermal efficiency, which ranges from 47.95% to 49.71%, due to irreversible losses such as heat loss and pressure loss. Additionally, the heat rate value decreases from 3.4129 to 3.1102, indicating improved fuel utilization efficiency, while the Back Work Ratio decreases from 0.3118 to 0.2752. The results indicate that operating the gas turbine closer to design conditions yields more optimal thermodynamic performance. Based on the analysis results, it is recommended to set the operational load at the point of maximum efficiency and to implement system improvements to minimize energy losses.
