KAJIAN EFEKTIVITAS FLUID VISCOUS DAMPER TIPE X TERHADAP REDUKSI GETARAN STRUKTUR AKIBAT GEMPA DI BENGKULU
This study aims to evaluate the seismic performance of a multi-story building structure with the application of Fluid Viscous Dampers (FVD) as an energy dissipation system. Indonesia, particularly the Bengkulu region, is located in a high seismic hazard zone, making earthquake-resistant structural design an essential requirement. In this research, a multi-story building was modeled using SAP2000 software by comparing several structural configurations, including a structure without dampers and structures with different FVD placement variations. The structural analysis was carried out using the response spectrum method in accordance with SNI 1726:2019 for seismic design criteria and SNI 1727:2020 for minimum design loads. The evaluated structural performance parameters include story displacement, story drift ratio, structural period, and base shear force. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of FVD significantly improves the seismic performance of the structure by reducing story displacement and drift ratio compared to the structure without dampers. In addition, the use of FVD affects the dynamic characteristics of the structure by enhancing stiffness and reducing vibration response under seismic loads. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of Fluid Viscous Dampers is effective in improving the seismic performance of multi-story buildings and can be considered as an alternative energy dissipation system for structures located in earthquake-prone areas.
